A living wealth

Collections

The heart of the garden is its collections. More than two thousand species of trees, shrubs, flowers and herbs are gathered here to be studied, conserved and shown to people.

The garden's collections are not a random set of plants but a carefully gathered "living collection": every plant has its place, its name and its scientific value.

Collections

Thousands of species

The garden holds more than 2000 species of trees, shrubs, flowers and herbaceous plants. Among them are representatives of the flora of Azerbaijan, the Caucasus and other regions of the world.

Trees and shrubs form an arboretum, while seasonal flower beds change the garden's face from spring to autumn. It is a collection that lives and breathes all year round.

Collections

The garden all year

Each season reveals the garden anew: spring blossom, dense summer green, autumn colours. The collections are chosen so that the garden is alive at any time of year.

Behind this lies the work of gardeners and scientists who for years select, propagate and conserve plants.

Green corners of the garden

The make-up of the collections changes over time; exact figures are best checked with the garden itself.
